Abstract
The paper describes the first phase of a new research effort aimed to enhance homing accuracy of terminal guidance against random target maneuvers by searching for an improved estimation scheme. Several different estimators are compared using the same differential game based guidance laws. The results show that the best estimator depends on the selected guidance law. Moreover, it becomes clear that estimators designed for optimal tracking performance are not the best for terminal guidance.
