Abstract :
A time domain version of the uniform geometrical theory of diffraction (TD-UTD) has been developed for a curved wedge. The excitation here can be a general astigmatic pulsed wave polarized transverse to its propagation path. This development is made possible via the utilization of an analytic signal representation of the electromagnetic fields when transforming the corresponding frequency domain UTD solution into the time domain (TD). The TD-UTD for a perfectly conducting curved wedge is extended to include the higher order slope diffraction term. The TD-UTD slope diffraction term is necessary when the incident field on the edge is varying rapidly (in space) just as in the frequency domain UTD. This result should be useful in the analysis of pulsed antennas radiating fields with rapid spatial variation near edged bodies.
