  • Abstract
A C/Ku dual frequency band earth station antenna adopting a waveguide type diplexing method is described. It has the design criteria as follows. 1. Extended INTELSAT´s C and Ku frequency band coverage on frequency reuse operation 2. High polarization isolation and low sidelobes meeting the INTELSAT mandatory specification requirements with good margin 3. Realization of a compact-sized C/Ku dual band feed which can be accommodated in a 7.6m to 16m vertex-fed antenna The RF performance characteristics of 13m and 16m antennas has been verified to meet the INTELSAT Standard A, B and C earth station requirements.
