  • Abstract
It is shown in this paper that oriented nanostructures from single-molecules of a semiconducting polymer act as single-quantum emitters. The polymer system studied here is a cyano-substituted variant of polyphenylene vinylene (CN-PPV, H. W. Sands corp.) High-resolution fluorescence was used to image the polymer nanostructures. The modulation depth and 1/e rise time were found to be the same for varied pump intensity and are highly reproducible from particle to particle
