Abstract :
A monopole UWB antenna with band-notched function is presented. The proposed antenna consists of a modified rectangular radiator and a truncated ground plane. To generate a notch around 5.5GHz WLAN band, a quarter-wavelength shorted parallel coupled strip is attached to the feed line. With those designs, the antenna yields an impedance bandwidth of 2.8 to 13.1 GHz (VSWR <; 2), while showing rejection performance in the frequency band of 5.1 to 5.9 GHz. Experimental results show that the proposed antenna has suitable impedance bandwidth, good radiation patterns, stable gain across the working bands.
