Abstract :
In a world of diminishing resources and increasing needs, every opportunity for recycling waste materials must be sought. Corn straw was fermented as a solid substrate for ornamental nurseries. The characteristics (nutrient content, pH and EC) of corn straw fermented substrate (CSFS) were measured and adjusted to adapt to the growth of the testing plants. We designed four kinds of cultivate substrate using three different substrate (CSFS, perlite, slags), the test seedlings are Osmanthus fragrans `Huangchuan jin´. The results showed that T2 is a better choice.
