Abstract :
Microwave applications and the development and fabrication of rf components will achieve in this decade a position of system and technology driver. Large volume applications in telecommunication, consumer, traffic management will need this enabling technology. Of special importance due to their GHz potential are GaAs MMICs. A summary of the most important systems and circuits foreseen will be given, presenting activities of the European component suppliers.
