Abstract :
The adaptive control of a parallel resonant converter is presented in this paper. The converter behaves as a one-stage power-factor corrector and battery charger, simultaneously. The extended averaging method is used to model the converter and investigate its dynamics. The wide range of operating points of the converter, makes it difficult to achieve good performance with classical PI controllers. A model-reference adaptive controller is designed for the topology, which ensures both stability and trace-ability for this application
