Abstract :
It is imperative to efficiently track and catalogue the extensive dense group of space objects for space surveillance. As the main instrument for Low Earth Orbit space surveillance, ground-based radar systems are usually limited by their resolving power while tracking small, but very dense clusters of space debris. Thus, the information obtained regarding target detection and observation will be seriously compromised and overlapping, making the traditional multi-target tracking method inefficient. The traditional central group tracking can´t get the information inside. Therefore, we conceived a new way to calculate the group center based on traditional group tracking model. By clustering the measurement in the echo gate of the group, the group center can be synthesized by the centers of clustering. The overall motion tendency is used to update the clustering within the group to obtain the distribution of the objects, and keep the tracking stable. Finally, the simulation of the tracking of group space objects is carried out to validate the efficiency of the proposed method.
