Abstract :
The conventional SNMP (Client/Server) model has been unable to properly meet the modern network; the reusability and scalability of experimental agent-based network management system are not ideal. Aiming at these problems and people´s deviation understanding and irrational use of agent, a new agent definition is proposed by introducing the multi-tuple concept; and a reusable 3-tier MAS (MAS, Multi-Agent Systems) application model is put forward, the core of which is agent layer, including Manager Agent, User Agent, Task Agent and Data Agent. As witnessed by the implemented system and the experiment, the model is reusable and scalable; can overcome the limitations of conventional SNMP model, being capable of effectively improving the efficiency of network management system.
