Abstract :
First results are presented on a distributed multi-sensor system based on optical fibre technology with applications foreseen in sea water monitoring. Preliminary modelling and experimental data demonstrate the ability to give continuously updated 3D information on at least two physical parameters (temperature and salinity) relevant to the management of sea water.
