Abstract :
This paper describes a laser radar system equipped with a laser range finder and mounted on pan-tilt equipment. We propose a method for estimating vehicle direction using this system, and report experiments designed to confirm that the direction could be estimated to within four degrees. In addition, we measured vehicle shapes using the estimated results, and distinguished the vehicle model, thus confirming the effectiveness of our laser radar system.
