Abstract :
We describe a new block motion estimation scheme by matching similar blocks across the frames under consideration according to their image content. A suitable definition of image content of a block is given. The new algorithm is compared vis-a-vis the conventional algorithm to demonstrate its superiority. Application of this new motion estimation algorithm to video pre-processing is also described
