Abstract
An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of controlled irrigation on yields and water use efficiency (WUE) of rice in cold region during 2004~2008. Three treatments were considered in this study, including check plot (CK), trearment CI1 (controlled irrigation measure without storing rainfall) and trearment CI2 (controlled irrigation measure of storing rainfall). The research results showed that the rice heory and quadrat yields slightly decrease under CI1, while increase 6.3% and 10.6% under CI2. The water irrigated and consumed of CI1 and CI2 were all less than CK, and the water saved and reduced of CI1 were 267.6 mm and 334.2 mm. The WUE and irrigation water use efficiency (IWUE) of CI1 and CI2 were better than CK, and CI2 had better IWUE with CI1. Comprehensive consideration of the effects, the use of CI2 was an excellent choice for rice controlled irrigation in cold region.
