  • Abstract
    A new microwave-imaging approach to the reconstruction of cylindrical dielectric targets is presented. The approach is developed in the spatial domain (no Fourier transforms are used). Starting from an exact, nonlinear integral-equation formulation of the inverse scattering problem, a Bayesian approach is used together with a Markov-Random-Field model. A simulated annealing algorithm is applied to minimize the obtained energy function. Some numerical results are reported, which show the capabilities of the proposed approach.
