Abstract :
We report the first room-temperature pulsed lasing from the single-crystalline Cr2+:ZnS (around 2.3 mum) and Cr2+ :ZnSe (around 2.4 mum) powders with the threshold pump energy density as low as ~34 mJ/cm2
