Abstract :
The cross-bar cooler was first introduced to the cement industry in 1997. After nearly 3½ years of operating experience and 17 new coolers sold to date, this technology is both revolutionary and proven. This paper highlights four innovative design features of the cross-bar cooler and presents the physical size, process efficiency, philosophy of operation, energy consumption and fan requirements for cooling 5000 MTPD of clinker from 1400°C to 100°C. In this regard, the cooler is the supplier´s normal design. In fact, coolers of the same size, as chosen for this application and as presented herein, have already been delivered
