Abstract :
This paper presents the results of an investigation of the lightning performance of a transmission line with spline ball ionizers. An experimental investigation was conducted to determine the critical flashover (CFO) voltage between a scale model of a charged cloud and a transmission line with spline ball ionizers. The CFO voltages for the standard lightning impulses were measured for both positive and negative polarity
