Abstract
The most important aspect of clinker cooler operation, which directly affects the overall performance delivered, is that of clinker distribution over the width of the cooler. With an optimal distribution, red rivers and blow-throughs can be minimized; the result of which is maximum heat recovery and availability. Over the years, Polysius has provided 78 REPOL(R) clinker coolers, and modified an additional 29 units. With regard to the example cooler presented, Polysius has supplied 18 such coolers for capacities of at least 5,000 mtpd clinker
