Abstract :
A broadband curvilinear dipole is presented, and impedancematching network including Non-Foster elements is employed to broaden its bandwidth. The antenna is precisely designed in a curved shape with the dimension of 1100 mm × 85 mm. The bandwidth for VSWR less than 2 ranges from 290MHz to 765MHz. Then, a conventional LC matching network is designed for the antenna, which brings a bandwidth of 5 octaves covering from 258MHz to 1370MHz. And then, the Non-Foster elements are introduced into the matching network, which makes it possible to include both positive LC and negative LC in the network. The simulate results show that the bandwidth of the antenna with Non-Foster Matching Network covers 14 octaves ranging from 116MHz to 1600MHz. The gain of the antenna is higher than 3dB, and the antenna exhibits a good omni direction radiation characteristics.
