Abstract :
In this paper, a 30 GHz horn antenna with different feeding structures is discussed based on low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology. The antenna with high gain is first designed by analyzing operation mechanisms of horn antennas and its implementation on LTCC structures. Then, radiation patterns are studied under stripline and microstrip feedings. The achieved fractional bandwidth is from 28.3 to 32.6 GHz (about 16%), and the simulated gain is 6.55 dBi with beam width of 90 degree at 30 GHz. The proposed horn antenna can be easily integrated with front-end circuits or systems, which is a great improvement over traditional horn antennas.
