Abstract :
This paper overviews the activities of the ADEOS-II/GLI Sensor Team for developing algorithms and validation system for remote sensing of aerosol and cloud microphysical parameters from ADEOS-II/GLI satellite-borne imager with 36 visible and infrared channels. Standard algorithms have been implemented to the NASDA EOC data processing system. Several new research algorithms also have been developed, such as a four-channel algorithm useful for aerosol type classification and a combined algorithm with GLI and AMSR microwave radiometer on board ADEOS-II for detection of drizzle cloud particles. Several examples are shown for application of these algorithms to data from MODIS, SeaWiFS, and TRMM sensors.
