  • Abstract
Artificial retina aims for the vision recovery of patient with degenerated photoreceptors by stimulating the remained retinal neurons. As a part of stimulator, MEAs (microelectrode arrays) has been developed. The MEAs was designed based on the technique of MEMS (microelectro mechanical systems). The microelectrode arrays dimensions of about 3 mm times 3 mm times 20 mum. The simulations are carried out with respect to the press force yielded by the eyeball. The results validated the feasibility of the MEAs in mechanics. The structure and parameters concerning the artificial retina microelectrode arrays can be optimized using the results.
