  • Abstract
    This paper describes a microwave life detector for buried victims after earthquakes, landslips, explosions or breaking down in buildings, etc.... The complementarity of this equipment with respect to other already existing techniques is discussed. Preliminary in situ results obtained with a prototype demonstrate the potentialities of such an microwave equipment and allow to identify possible improvements for a fully operational system.
