  • Abstract
Hydrocyclone is very important in wet Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) process for the separation of absorbent limestone slurry and the dewatering of gypsum production. Two important factors to value the cyclone performance are separation efficiency curve and cut size. They are influenced by many factors, including the construction of hydrocyclone. The separators with different vortex finder are discussed by numerical method with RSM and VOF model and Lagrangian particle tracking approach in this study. Results of simulation show that the separation efficiency will be better with a proper vortex finder length and thickness. The absorption effect of sulfur dioxide will be benefited by using such hydrocyclone.
