Abstract :
The author gives an overview of the narrowing bandwidth of π/4 shifted differential quadrature phase shift keying (DQPSK), which was previously achieved using a raised cosine filter, at 1.62-b/Hz efficiency, based on the Nyquist-Kaiser filter and generalized short time discrete Fourier transform (DFT) (ST gDFT) demodulator. He gives a technique in which such degradations as those caused from Gaussian thermal and fading click noise are desmeared through ST gDFT to improve efficiency to more than 1.80 b/Hz
