Abstract :
The flight test is a necessary step for the airborne early warning radar before it is officially put into use. In order to design the flight routes of both aerial carriers and target aircrafts for radar flight test, it needs to know the overall detection performance of radar first. In the paper, firstly, we simulate the ground clutter power distribution of airborne early warning radar, and based on this ground clutter power distribution, we map a more accurate Range-Velocity detection figure, which can comprehensively reflect the weak area of the detection performance of the radar. Furthermore, according to different radial velocity, we design the corresponding flight routes for aerial carriers and target aircrafts, which makes the target aircrafts fall into the weak zone as much as possible in one flight test. The novel design thought presented in this paper can provide important reference for the flight test of airborne early warning radar.
