  • Abstract
Grid and peer-to-peer technology are widely applied to file sharing system. P2P overlay network topology and search algorithm have always got much attention of researchers. A mismatch between overlay and the Internet infrastructure has critical performance implications in search efficiency. We design a file sharing system named RP(k)C-Grid. It is a hybrid topology overlay network composed of two parts: RP(k) as backbone and Resource Cluster. The overlay is constructed based on node capacity and network delay of the physical network. Cluster Head Probe, Cluster Flooding and RP(k)C Scan search mechanism (PFS) are executed in RP(k)C-Grid. Query register mechanism voids repeated flooding within cluster for same file. A resource awareness model based on directory advertisement improves resource awareness ability of the cluster head node. Experimental study reveals that the RP(k)C-Grid has good efficiency in search delay and load balance.
