Abstract
Current trends in CAD point the way to more direct solutions to a number of technically-difficult problems. Adviser tools provide flexible, rules-based analysis. The application of adviser technology to EMC analysis is examined. There has for some time been a division between logical design (CAE) and physical design (CAD). This is becoming increasingly blurred by the need to take account of the electrical effects of physical circuit features, to which the proliferation of tools to specifically address these issues testifies. Typically, the physical data is combined with models appropriate to the type of analysis being performed
