  • Abstract
    Edible coating preservation with the advantages of low cost and operable, and good preservation effects, has broad prospects. Using edible materials to coated foods can not only keep fresh food quality, extend shelf life, enhance food safety and sensory characteristics, edible coatings can also be used as the carrier of active ingredients. The principle of edible coating preservation, the types of coating membranes and their advantages and disadvantages, the factors affecting the coating effect of aspects are summarized in this paper. Finally, out-look the future trends of edible coating preservation.
