Abstract
This paper describes the strategies and processes to rapidly lockdown network security firewalls for manufacturing factories in an unobtrusive manner to protect factory automation systems from cyber attacks. This cyber security protection strategy can be applied to other manufacturing environments with high availability requirements for the computing infrastructures. The processes and experiences can also benefit other engineering projects of retrofitting emerging IT technologies to mission critical environments in production.
