Abstract
This paper presents novel approaches for mapping from phase to sine amplitude in direct digital frequency synthesizers (DDSs) based on the function-approximation capability of artificial neural networks (ANNs). Feasibility, advantages, and some implementation issues associated with the proposed neural DDS family are discussed.
