  • Abstract
    A field matching analysis is applied to determine the equivalent circuit parameters of a planar M-way radial waveguide combiner/divider with probes. To overcome the difficulty associated with a large number of unknowns, the problem is decomposed into M+1 smaller sized sub-problems. Based on this idea a computer algorithm for determining the admittance matrix parameters of an M-way divider/combiner is developed. The algorithm is verified in the design examples of a broadband 20-way divider and a symmetric 5-port. Good agreement between theory and experiment is noted.
