Abstract
Bioinformatics analysis of the gene coding Light Induced Rice1 (lir1) protein and its promoter sequence in rice was preformed. The results demonstrates that LIR1 is an unstable hydrophilic protein consisting of 128 amino acids and contains the α-helix and random coil structure. Glycosylation sites, phosphorylation sites and myristoylation sites exist in LIR and transmembrane helices have been found between the position of 13 and 19 amino acid. In addition, the deduced amino acid sequence includes a signal peptide of 21 amino acids, which shows it may locate in the cytoplasm of some organelles. Prediction of the physiological function of LIR1 indicates that it may involve in energy metabolism. The promoter sequence contains light-related response elements, which indicates that it might work in a unique pattern in lir1 expression under the control of light.
