Abstract
This paper introduces preliminary CAL/VAL of the Phased Array type of L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (PALSAR) onboard the Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS) in terms of the antenna pattern error distribution and the image correlation using the PALSAR parameters. More CAL VAL will be conducted to ensure the applicable potential of PALSAR to the Earth environmental monitoring, e.g., the disaster, forest (biomass), land surface classification, DEM generation capability, and so on.
