  • Abstract
In this paper we present a multiple access scheme for wireless networks that allows multiple nodes to broadcast their packets simultaneously. The simultaneously broadcasted packets are superimposed with a random pattern at each network node that receives them. A subset of the network nodes act as cooperative relays and forward the locally superimposed packets without decoding them. Each destination node recovers the desired packet with a successive interference cancelation (SIC) and decoding algorithm that exploits the pattern of the superimposed transmissions. Different flavors of the basic scheme are investigated and combine amplify-and-forward (AF) from the relays, and also retransmissions from the initial sources.
