Abstract
New high strength polyester glass banding tape is made from continuous filament electrical grade fiberglass yarn, impregnated with a thermosetting polyester resin system. The yarns are laid parallel to form a thin flat ribbon with exceptional strength. As supplied, the tape is soft and pliable with a slight amount of tack. During the cure the resin flows filling voids and air spaces to produce a homogenous laminate. The fully cured band is rigid with a hard smooth resin rich surface
