Abstract
In this paper, we study the numerical approximation of distributed control problems for a scalar hyperbolic equation. Based on a Discontinuous Galerkin scheme, we establish a numerical approximation of the underlying optimal control problem. We give a priori error analysis and obtain optimal order of convergence for both state and optimal control. Numerical experiments confirm the theoretical results we obtained.
