Abstract :
By choosing a phase shift greater than 90° in a vector modulator phase shifter, a very accurate MMIC 0-90° analog phase shifter has been built. This circuit presents important advantages due to this innovative solution. We can mention the very low gain ripple of +/¿03 dB around 8 dB, the linear variation of the phase shift by simply controlling linearly the gate voltage of a DGFET and the compactness of the chip (lÃ1mm2). It is not very low consumption (1W) but a digital control may perform at the same time a ponderation of the two vectors to obtain an amplitude and a phase shift of the signal exciting each element of an antenna array, thus avoiding the adjunction of a variable amplifier.
