Abstract
Several software tools have been developed to evaluate the radiation characteristics of Multimode (Multiflared) Conical and Coaxial Horns, Classical predesign tools based on quadratic phase error added to the aperture field modes are used to determine approximate horn dimensions together with the appropriate amplitude and phase relations between modes, From these pre design results, a more complex model based on Mode Matching Techniques is used to accomplish final design of the horn internal profiles. These programs have been used to optimize a Dual Band (SIX) Coaxial Feeder for a Fe/D = l. 7 Cassegrain Radiotelescope.
