Abstract
The function of internal audit in power system can be service-oriented to carry out sustainable development (SD) program. Requirements of internal auditors include being familiar with manufacturing process, industry related regularities, accounting treatments and mitigation management. Internal auditors can formulate policies and strategies of SD, help to plan, check resources allocation, carry out comprehensive training program and secure smooth communication channels. Also, they should take responsible for evaluating performance and supervising on corrective action to secure continuous progress. Supporting measures for SD in power system in China include mandatory publication of SD information in listed companies in power industry, formal affirmation of the service-oriented function of internal audit and active participation of high levels.
