Abstract :
This research focused on the control of vehicle suspension by means of magnetic resistant force coming from the generating process. As the suspension system vibrates the kinetic energy is transformed into the electrical energy through a designed transmission mechanism which converts the translational motion into the rotational motion combined with the claw pole generator. Both resistant force and generating current could occur during the vibrations. From the theory of electrical generator, it is known that the exciting current of the generator which could determine the resistant force play an important role in the control system. Hence, in this paper, a new adaptive controller by properly designing the exciting current is proposed to actively control the suspension system. Experiments are performed to demonstrate the feasibility the devised control scheme.
