Abstract :
The authors explore harmonic calculations for Chinese electrified railway systems. One of the branches of the electrified railway power system in operation was emulated and calculated with special purpose software for analyzing harmonic currents. The multiple harmonic sources and the asymmetry of the system make the harmonic analysis complicated. The three-phase power system is converted into a single-phase network with mutual coupling. A simple algorithm for calculating harmonics with node voltage equations is provided, which simplifies the calculation of harmonics of a complicated system with multiple harmonic sources and asymmetrical networks
