Abstract :
In this paper is proposed the use of time-frequency transform in the study of Partial Discharges (PD). The study of the PD activity it´s very important, in fact, to allows highlights the aging stage in the insulating material under test. This paper proposes an analysis on a dielectric systems affected by partial discharge activities, based on an original processing of the acquired data. The mathematical tool used is the Wavelet transform. This transform allows to collect information on the PD signal both in time and in frequency domain at the same time. The implemented environment is shown and particular attention is devoted to user interface and to practical occurrence in experimental measurement
