Abstract
The potential to transfer energy from the primary to the secondary of an asynchronous linear doubly-fed motor is investigated for different operating modes taking care of detailed losses modeling in both primary and secondary parts of the motor. The degrees of freedom for the operating point assignment and the energy transfer are discussed and a multiobjective optimization process is described and utilized to achieve an efficient energy transfer. For investigation of particular questions of thrust generation and energy transfer, a test bed of 8 m length is utilized for validation.
