Abstract
In mobile IPv6, especially in hierarchical mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6), operations of the duplicate address detection (DAD) for on-link care-of address (LCoA) and regional care-of address (RCoA) take most of time in handover of HMIPv6. The concept of visual domain was introduced in this paper. By means of using the concept, this proposal make servers in visual domain replace mobile node (MN) to do DAD operations. Therefore, the waiting time of DAD were avoided by pre-operation of DAD. The Simulation results showed that the proposed scheme could reduce 98.5% of the time in handover of HMIPv6 and greatly improve the performance of mobile IPv6 network.
