Abstract :
Many different techniques have been proposed to estimate the speed of an induction motor without a shaft sensor. Three representative approaches are considered in the paper. The methods are compared in terms of their sensitivity to parameter variations, their ability to handle loads on the motor, and their speed tracking capability.
