Abstract
The available coke oven gas is very rich in China, but now mostly of coke oven gas is burned directly and emitted into the atmosphere, which will not only cause a great waste of resource, but also bring about serious environmental problems. Three promising coke oven gas utilization projects, methanol plant, gas turbine combined cycle power plant and polygeneration plant of co-producing methanol and electricity, were designed and evaluated the economy. The sensitivity analysis was conducted, and for different scale of coke plant, the optimum utilization project was selected. The results show that all projects can make profit. For those small-scaled coke plants, power generation plant by gas turbine combined cycle is ideal project. For those middle-scaled coke plants, methanol plant is ideal project. For those large-scaled coke plants, poly-generation plant is ideal project.
