Abstract :
We present an analytic method for the analysis of anisotropic nondiffracting beams and pulses. It can be used to derive the asymptotic behavior of nondiffracting waves far from the axis of propagation. We compare numerical solutions to the analytical model in quartz and analyse the effects of anisotropy on the nondiffracting waves. The approximate solution may also be applied to the design of transducer aperture geometry
