Abstract :
In this paper, the performance of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) maximal ratio combining (MRC) systems is investigated. We first propose the exact closed-form expressions for the bit error rate (BER) of Gray mapping M-PAM, M-QAM, BPSK and QPSK. Next, we derive approximate BER expression for Gray mapping M-PSK (M=S8) constellations. Finally, the validity of the performance analysis is demonstrated by the computer simulations.
